Boarding Cattery

Home comforts & individual attention

Leave your cat with us, confident that your precious pet will be well loved and well cared for whilst you are away. We are committed to your cat’s comfort and welfare, and your peace of mind.

The Accommodation

The boarding cattery consists of eight spacious runs, each with a covered patio off the inside shelter which leads onto a secure garden. There are cosy places for indoor sleeps, and outside hammocks for daytime snoozing. Plenty of shade in Summer, and a heated sleep area in Winter.

Each run is multi-levelled which allows visitors to observe their temporary world from a secure height.

The runs comfortably accommodate two cats from the same family, and we have one larger run suitable for up to four cats.

On The Menu

Hills Science Plan kibble, appropriate for your cat is accessible at all times. Wet food is fed on request and fresh water is available at all times.

If your cat requires a different, specialty or prescription diet, please inform us when booking.  You may bring your cat’s required food, or we are willing to feed the specific diet. This will incur a surcharge.

If you want to bring extra treats for your cat, we will give them to your cat as instructed by you.

Health & Hygiene

The units are equipped with multiple litter trays containing eco-friendly wood chip litter. Litter trays are cleaned twice daily. F10 products are used to clean the inside of the units.

Should the need arise, we have an excellent working relationship with Dr Derek Clover. We are also willing to take your cat to a vet of your choice in Pietermaritzburg or Hilton.

To ensure the protection of resident and visiting cats, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Your cats must be vaccinated at least 14 days PRIOR to arrival. NO exceptions to this rule will be allowed. Veterinary books must be presented on arrival.

All cats must be flea and parasite free. Should there be evidence of fleas or parasites we reserve the right to treat appropriately at the owners expense.

All cats over the age of six months MUST be sterilised.

Hours

Our opening hours ensure that the cattery residents aren’t unnecessarily disturbed in their tranquil environment.

Opening hours:

  • Mon – Fri 9am to 11am & 3pm to 5pm
  • Sat 9am to 11am
  • Closed on Sundays.

Arrival

To ensure the safety of your cat, please bring your cat in a secure pet-carrier. We will store the carrier until it is time for your cat to return home.

Please park outside of the gate for the safety of our cats in the garden. We will come out to receive your cat.

Your cat will have a choice of beds and igloos. We strongly recommend that you bring something like a blanket or T-Shirt that has your familiar smell on it as this is proven to help cats settle in quickly.
